Editorial policy

Hear Life is an educational resource for Canadians. This page explains how we create and maintain content so readers can trust what they’re reading.

Our goal

We try to make hearing topics easier to understand: hearing tests, hearing aids, tinnitus, and funding/coverage programs in Canada.

This site does not provide medical advice. For diagnosis or treatment decisions, talk to a qualified clinician.

How articles are written

Each article is drafted to be practical and readable, then checked for clarity and consistency.

We aim to cite reputable sources (Canadian public health, professional associations, and major medical references).

Sources and updates

Most articles include a Sources section and an “Updated” date. If a program changes (like funding rules), we try to update the guide and the date.

If you spot an outdated detail, we’d love to fix it.

Clinic requests

Some articles include a short “request help” option. If you send a request, we use your details to follow up and help connect you to a nearby hearing clinic.

Please don’t include sensitive personal health details in free-text fields.
